Grand West Ice Rink at the Ice Station

Grand West brings you the well known Ice Station ice skating rink

Now I know some people are just that good at ice skating, that a trip to the ice rink can be an enjoyable moment in deed. And then….there are others, who are the ones you find sticking to the outer ring barrier, gradually dragging themselves around and around. Either way it’s a fun filled day for everyone no matter your skill, or lack thereof. Grand West is not only an entertainment destination for travelers and locals, but a full day out for the whole family as the Ice Rink is just one of many awesome things to go do at Grand West.

Learn to Skate at the Ice Rink

By joining one of their development clubs, you can learn the best way possible. These clubs operate from The Ice Station at the Grand West Casino. Remember practice makes perfect, so the more time you invest and the more you skate, the quicker you will pick it up, and once you do that - there is a whole new world out there waiting for you to embrace it. Once you’ve mastered the basics of skating it is an easy transition to a future of ice hockey or figure skating with our resident professional coaches.

The Ice Rink giving it back

The Ice Station is a non-profit organisation doing their best to develop the youth of Cape Town in the various disciplines of ice skating and of course to provide a recreational service at low prices to the public. There are various figure skating clubs operating from The Ice Station. These clubs are all affiliated to the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA).

Bring on the party!

The Olympic-sized ice rink at Grand West Casino is a very popular facility, and ideal for birthday parties or even corporate events. Either bring your own skates if you have or hire from the venue on the day. Remember to bring a chance of clothes and socks, as you are guaranteed to get a little wet whilst having fun. Be sure to ask for more info on these offers.

You can also get added to the monthly newsletter by contacting them, to stay abreast of what's happening at the rink.
